Hello everyone, Iam Rishab Jain, i secured All India Rank 23 in UPSC CSE 2018. I'll tell you my story. Let me know if I'm an average or below average person Failed for the first time in a subject in my tenth standard Studied in TN state board. Got 85.2% in tenth In twelfth, got 84.66%. Again only state board. During my twelfth I had heard of AIEEE but not IIT JEE. I had no idea that IIT’s even exists. (Poor me). When I thought of appearing in AIEEE, one of my chemistry teacher said, ‘AIEEE is based on CBSE syllabus, we read state board syllabus, hence its not of much use’. So didn't apply for AIEEE Got admission in a college in Chennai due to someone's recommendation in Electronics and Communication Engineering. One of my friend had called me to a cultural in IIT-M. That's for the first time I had stepped into IIT and felt I missed studying in such a huge campus. First sem, 7 GPA with one backlog Second sem, 6 point something with one backlog. Could only

Backup plan for Civil Service Exam by Rishab jain In the first two years of my preparation for the CSE I didn't have any backup plans. In fact I had resigned my job and decided not to go back into the IT sector. I had my complete focus on CSE. But after two failures at the Main exam stage, I was seriously considering a backup option. That's when one of my friend, Ashish Jain, secured a good rank in CAPF(AC), and got into the CISF. I found the exam process is very simple and a job in forces is worth a shot. So I had appeared in the written exam conducted in August, 2018. The results were declared in December, 2018, after the CSE Main results. My CSE interview date was on 21st Feb and results were to be announced by April first week. How to Join in Indian Army

There are number of ways to join in Indian Army. Note: If you are in 12th class then you have golden opportunity to join in Defence like Indian Army or Navy or Air Force through NDA Exam i.e National Defence Academy Exam which is conducted by UPSC twice a year. 1.   Soldier Technical -  (Technical Arms - Arty, Army Air Defence 10+2/Intermediate Exam pass in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English with 50% marks in aggregate and 40% marks in each subject. Age 17.5 -23.0 2. Soldier Clerk / Store Keeper Technical  (All Arms) 10+2/Intermediate Examination Pass in any stream (Arts, Commerce, Science). How to Choose Optional Subject for Civil Services Exam

Choosing the Optional Subject requires multiple factors and infact Optional Subject plays a key role not only in the rank but also in the qualification for Interview. Optional subject consists of two papers. Each paper comprise of250 marks. Choose the Optional Subject in following ways 1. Generally Veteran aspirants or Civil Servants will say " choose the subject which you had interest". But in reality it doesn't workout because Before going to choose the Optional Subject you should verify the things like a) Syllabus- Is it short and will i able to complete it within three months or it takes more time...?? So choose the Subject which has short in syllabus. b) Marks - If you look at Anthropology and Sociology here the marks are fetching upto 380. While the other subjects like History, geography, political science, here the marks will get maximum upto 350. Below Avg Student Himanshu Kaushik Cracked the UPSC Exam

After completion of graduation you Just have 1 year for Exam so i think this is the best strategy to crack the exam 👇 I am mentioning the list of books of Himanshu Kaushik  which he followed during his UPSC Preparation. He Secured AIR 77 in UPSC CSE 2017 in First Attempt   Infact He has two Backlogs in his graduation and finally he completed his graduation with a percentage of 68. Here you can see that Below Average Students can also clear this exam so Don't lose hope. MAIN POINTS TO REMEMBER 1. NCERTs are mandatory. Start from VIII standard and go up to XII. Don’t read every NCERT. I have mentioned the useful ones. 2.   No need to read bulky books. Our motive is to clear the exam and not to research on subjects. It is General Studies hence require a general level of understanding. Only in optional subject, you need to have a specific knowledge of Post Graduation Level. 3. BookList For 10th and Intermediate students

Many of you are asking regarding the preparation for Civil Service Exam. This booklist is for 10th,11th and 12th standards. In the next Article I'll give the booklist for Degree/Btech Students First read NCERTs 1.  HISTORY - NCERT from 6th to 12th Here you may get doubts like whether we should read new NCERTs or Old NCERTs. If you look at previous years questions they are asking from Old NCERTs. So choose Old NCERTs. 2. Geography - NCERT from 6th to 12th 3. Polity - NCERT from 6th to 12th but your                        focus should be on 11th NCERTS These books are enough to build base for your preperation. So please revise these books as much as possible. Then after completion of these books you can shift to Standard books. Note: Try to read The Hindu News paper atleast weekly once.
