Hello everyone, Iam Rishab Jain, i secured All India Rank 23 in UPSC CSE 2018. I'll tell you my story. Let me know if I'm an average or below average person Failed for the first time in a subject in my tenth standard Studied in TN state board. Got 85.2% in tenth In twelfth, got 84.66%. Again only state board. During my twelfth I had heard of AIEEE but not IIT JEE. I had no idea that IIT’s even exists. (Poor me). When I thought of appearing in AIEEE, one of my chemistry teacher said, ‘AIEEE is based on CBSE syllabus, we read state board syllabus, hence its not of much use’. So didn't apply for AIEEE Got admission in a college in Chennai due to someone's recommendation in Electronics and Communication Engineering. One of my friend had called me to a cultural in IIT-M. That's for the first time I had stepped into IIT and felt I missed studying in such a huge campus. First sem, 7 GPA with one backlog Second sem, 6 point something with one backlog. Could only

Crack UPSC Civil Service Exam right after your Graduation like Srushti Deshmukh AIR 5 2018

This strategy is for the students who are doing their degree or BTech because they have ample of time like three to four years.
So you get the chance to crack the exam after completion of your graduation.

• Example Srushti Deshmukh AIR 5 in UPSC CSE 2018.She Cracked the exam just after the completion of her graduation without wasting 1yr of time in the coaching centre.

Coming to the BOOKLIST

1. Firstly check the syllabus of UPSC CSE and next look at the previous year questions.

2. Then start with Old NCERTs and here Start with your favourite subject so you can complete the other books in a flow.

3. Subjects like Geography and Polity needs conceptual understanding so you need to keep lof of additional effort like watching videos , google search etc on these subjects.

4. Read News paper like The Hindu or The Indian Express mainly editorials

5. First two years you just prepare and revise n number of times.Dont forget to choose optional subject.

Complete these for 1year. I know these can complete within 6 months but the thing here is revision. The more you revise the more you have chances to crack the exam because revision is the borest thing.

6. In the final year you start giving mock tests and practice answer writing. 

After completion of NCERTs in the first year you go for Standard books like
  
1. Polity - Laxmikant

2. Modern history - Rajiv Ahir

3. Art and culture - Nithin Singhania 

4. Ethics - lexicon or subba rao

5. geography - GC Leong and NCERT 11th and 12th four books are very important

6. Indian After Gandhi / India after Independence choose any one for post Independence part.

7. Environment - Shankar IAS book


8. Economics - Ramesh Singh and Mrunal videos and ofcourse NCERT gives you basics.
